Restless City

Dir. Andrew Dosunmu, USA, 2011, 80 minutes.
Restless City

A beautiful love letter to Africa and a homage to  legendary  Djibril Diop Mambetty’s “ Touki Bouki,”   Restless City is a breathtaking meditation on cinematic form. One of the few films about Africans in New York made by an African,  the film tells the story of Djibril, a West  African immigrant surviving on the fringes of New York City where music is his passion, life is a hustle and falling in love is his greatest risk.

Official selection, 2011 Sunadance film festival.
