Irina Patkanian
Russian born, Irina Patkanian is an award-winning filmmaker who lives and works in New York City. Her films and videos were shown at various festivals and museums around the world. Patkanian is the president and co-founder of a non-for-profit film and theater company "In Parenthesis" that produces screen and stage adaptations of contemporary authors and international documentaries. Most recently Patkanian wrote/directed and produced a narrative short "Second Egyptian" that won "best narrative" award at the 2007 San Diego Women Film Festival and a documentary essay "My American Neighbor" about the perception of America abroad that is currently playing at various festivals. Irina Patkanian is a professor of media production at the Department of Television and Radio at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.
